About Kristen

2007-2010

I grew up in a small town in MA called Dunstable, where I played soccer, track, and basketball. When I wasn’t running around outside with the neighbors, I was getting crafty indoors. Throughout elementary school, I designed birthday cards and handmade gifts for my family and friends. In high school, I joined the yearbook club and created sharpie art lyric posters and hung them all over my bedroom walls. My mom said “Why did we paint your bedroom if you were just going to cover it anyway?!"

2010-2014

When choosing a college major, Graphic Design just seemed to fit. I chose Endicott College in Beverly, MA for the Design program and the amazing internship curriculum — the 3 private beaches didn’t hurt! I found the internship process to be both self-reflective and extremely helpful in figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. The third time's the charm — after two internships at print companies, I found a deep love for in-house marketing at PUMA. I loved creating print and digital designs for their multiple sub-brands, and collaborating with other talented creatives. It was there that I realized my passion for integrated marketing and design strategy: creating a cohesive brand amongst all platforms.

2015-2017

I moved to Boston in 2015, when I began my journey at Magic Beans, a local baby gear and toy company. There, I was the sole designer, so I had to adapt to the new environment very quickly. At Magic Beans I was able to elevate and change the brand’s look and feel, as well as rebrand their expo, Drool Baby. I had my hands in everything remotely creative: posters, signage, apparel, email marketing, social media, web graphics, illustration — I even dabbled in photography and videography! This well-rounded skill set catapulted me into the consulting world that I am in now, and gave me the confidence to go out on my own.

2017-2020

After quitting my full-time job I went all-in on the entrepreneur life. I networked every week, 2-3x week, and built my own little community of business-owners and professionals. I soaked up all the knowledge I could about running your own business, and I learned a lot. It took time for me to figure out my signature offers, and I worked on a wide range of design projects.

When the pandemic hit in March 2020, I shifted my focus from in-person networking to virtual networking and social media marketing, like many professionals. It was then that I dove into the world of Canva and developed my own Canva coaching course for entreprenuers.

2020-now

Lots has changed since starting my business: I’ve moved to NH, bought a condo, got engaged, and rescued two leopard geckos! I’ve loved running my own business and have grown so much both professionally and personally. I love what I do, because every day is different. Some days I’m hammering out social media graphics, while others I’m working on a rebrand, or laying out an annual report. In retrospect, I think I chose the Graphic Design field because I knew I would never get bored. I love interacting with so many different businesses, products, and services.

I truly believe that everyone deserves quality design at an affordable price, and that any business can benefit from having a strong brand identity. I always tell my clients to let ME do what I do best — so that you can focus on what YOU do best. :)

Fun Facts:

Although I’ve played soccer, professionally competed in obstacle racing, been a CrossFitter, and tried barre classes, hiking is my absolute favorite physical activity — no matter the season! I’ve hiked 34 out of the 48 4,000 footers of NH.

My favorite band is Led Zeppelin. I have one of their song titles tattooed on my left forearm! I’m also an emo-music lover (think Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Brand New, My Chemical Romance).

Kristen holding a Precision Nutrition Coaching Certificate

I’ve been sober and vegan since May of 2021. I love cooking, and love sharing plant-based recipes with the world. I am team tofu and think vegan mayo is the best condiment. I also have a nutrition coaching certification, but I don’t practice.

Kristen and her boyfriend dressed at Star Wars Jedis with light sabers

Halloween is my favorite holiday. For my birthday in 2023 I had a Halloween-In-April costume party. Over the years I’ve dressed as Austin Powers, PSY, a Ghostbuster, Robert Plant, and a Jedi.

I’m a huge animal lover, and have two rescued pet leopard geckos and a 55 gallon freshwater fish tank. My favorite animal is the giraffe. They are awkward, yet still graceful, somehow.

In my 30’s I’ve really embraced my inner nerd. I’m a DnD player (wood elf cleric), Star Wars lover, LOTR fan, and love a good board game night! Catan, anyone?
